Crash Bandicoot - Rude Awakening UE5 Re-imagined

WOAH.... WOAH.... WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH.

But seriously this was a fun project to work on over the past 10 weeks. I know it isn't ideal to call something a "fan art" but I can't really say this was "Crash Bandicoot inspired piece" haha.

Those who know me understand I have a real love for the Crash games and being able to recreate the intro was good fun and learned a ton. Crash 4 was done with baked lighting in UE4, bringing it to UE5 and Lumen was sweet.
If you have any questions, do feel to drop them. I will be dropping a second post quite soon on the pipeline as I did some pretty unique stuff here when it comes to foliage n that.

Huge thanks to M3DS Academy. They've given me a really awesome oppurtunity to do some work with them for the Rookies 2025!

By the time this gets posted I've already started on my second piece with it being just under 2 months away till deadline. As crunchy as a fresh lettuce.

We used a mix of gradients/ texture blending and emissives to make the trees lush and fruitful. The darker gradient helped with depth and casing away those "spriggly" foliage card ends

The grass you see was used to trim around the terrain, resulting in a fluffy blend from mud -> field -> foliage.
